We have yet to have anyone visit our home and not be “blown away” by the kitchen.  It is outstanding!

We recognized the quality, period correctness, durability and value that D. R. Dimes furniture provided our family for over 40 years.   In 2014, we decided to renovate our home built in 1910 and wanted a kitchen that would work for today’s lifestyles but also be appropriate.  We contacted Doug Dimes, owner and President, who personally visited our home and provided insight as to the look and feel of an age appropriate kitchen that would serve today’s family.   The cabinetry, done in tiger maple, exceeded our demanding goals in terms of appearance and functionality.  We have yet to have anyone visit our home and not be “blown away” by the kitchen.  It is outstanding!    It is the focal point of our house and a testament to the intimate knowledge that Doug has regarding classic design and woodworking in general.  My wife and I took the time to visit the factory in New Hampshire to see the quality and ingenuity that goes into everything that Dimes creates.   Interesting to note that Doug is not only an expert machine operator but has actually designed and built many of the specialty machines that create the masterpieces that carry the Dimes Family name.

Based on our furniture and kitchen experience, we reached out once again in 2016 to Doug for the kitchen in our new Lake house in Vermont.  And of course, Doug visited the property and provided us his invaluable insight with regard to design, wood species, and finishes.  The end result, a high quality job produced on time and within budget in a handsome wood, butternut.

Value is the byproduct of what D.R. Dimes produces in both furniture and kitchens.  And that value has its roots in Doug and his Father (Doug R.)  before him.   Both men have spent their lives painstakingly creating heirlooms from one of nature’s amazing renewable resources, wood.
